This powerfully touching play follows the events after the unexpected death of the mother of the Payne family. The husband and daughter each face their own dilemmas – he must determine how he will proceed in his Christian walk – does he follow his own dreams, or continue in obedience with God’s plan, and she must determine if this tragedy has shaken her faith to the point of destruction.
As we witness the process of recovery through this difficult time, we see father and daughter struggle with disbelief, anger, helplessness, and finally, restoration. We learn that although things happen on this earth that are not God’s will, his faithfulness to his children will see us through any adversity.
This moving and poignant presentation is a wonderfully orchestrated reminder that God’s love is for us at every step of our lives – from the greatest of highs, to the lowest depths. God’s plan for us continues throughout our lifetimes. If we allow him access, he will mold us into powerful servants for his kingdom.
